The spot
A lookout on the slope of Shoushan beside the Martyrs’ Shrine, with the whole of Kaohsiung laid out below: the harbor, the 85 Sky Tower, the container terminals and Cijin across the water. The sun sets over the harbor mouth, and the city lights coming on afterward are the reason it is one of Kaohsiung’s best-known night views. Xiziwan (see writeup here) is at the foot of the same hill.
Popular with couples in the evening, as the name suggests; the terrace is small, so come early on weekends.
