The spot
The best-known beach on the north coast, a curve of pale sand between two headlands near Shimen. It faces northwest, so in the evening the sun drops into the sea beyond the western headland and the whole bay takes the color. In summer it is a swimming beach with lifeguards and a visitor center; out of season it is quiet.
The headland to the west, Linshanbi, has a short trail if you want to be above the bay rather than on it.
