The spot
Wazihwei is the mangrove reserve at the mouth of the Tamsui River on the Bali side, with a boardwalk through the trees and out to the mudflats. From the riverbank you look across the estuary to Tamsui and Guanyinshan, and the sun sets over the sea to the west where the river ends.
It is a short ride along the left-bank cycle path from the Bali ferry pier, so it pairs naturally with an evening in Tamsui: cross on the ferry, ride out, watch the sun, ride back for the crossing.
