The spot
Wanggong is an oyster town, and the tidal flats that feed it stretch a long way out at low water, which is what gives the sunset here its scale. The black-and-white striped lighthouse stands at the harbor, and the oyster carts and the racks out on the mud give the foreground everyone is looking for.
Come for the evening market as much as the sky — grilled oysters straight off the flats are the local reason to be here at dusk.
