The spot
A working harbor on the Taichung coast with a big fish market and a row of seafood restaurants. From the breakwater you look west over the strait with the cranes of Taichung Port and the wind turbines along the shore in silhouette, and the sun sets straight into the sea. It is a short drive from Gaomei Wetlands (see writeup here), and a good second option when Gaomei is packed.
Eat here afterward: the market restaurants are the point of the place for most visitors.
